Anchor House is ecstatic to be one of the nonprofits selected to receive a Sunset Grant through the Bunbury Fund at the Princeton Area Community Foundation (PACF). These transformational gifts are intended to significantly enhance capacity of the grant recipients to deliver their missions.

“With so much uncertainty facing nonprofits right now, this grant feels like a sunrise more than a sunset, bringing a sense of hope that the promise of a new day brings,” explained Kim McNear, Anchor House Executive Director. “We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that Anchor House is blessed to have funders that make investments like this in nonprofits like ours and recognize the impact we have made in our community and how much more we can do with additional resources.”

The reason it is called a Sunset Fund is, last year, The Bunbury Fund launched its 10-year anniversary by announcing a plan to ‘sunset’ the fund, spending down the remaining funds and awarding a series of large-scale grants to local nonprofits.

Prior to the Sunsetting Grants process, The Bunbury Fund awarded $7 million in grants to help nonprofits like Anchor House build capacity. This included a feasibility study on the expansion of mental health services at Anchor House. This transformational gift will help toward this expansion.

We are forever grateful for the support through The Bunbury Fund at the Princeton Area Community Foundation for this gift and for the past grants received through this fund.

A gift to Anchor House, no matter how big or how small, helps to transforms the lives of the youth and young adults we serve.
