Anchor House Executive Director Kim McNear Named YWCA Princeton Tribute to Women Honoree

Kim McNear named YWCA Tribute to Women Honoree

Anchor House Executive Director Kim McNear was recognized as one of the YWCA Princeton’s 2024 Tribute to Women honorees. Kim and the other honorees were celebrated at the YWCA’s 40th Annual Tribute to Women Gala for the work they do to make our shared community a better place, and for being agents of change in Mercer County. It was held on March 1 at the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal.

Established in 1984, YWCA Princeton’s Tribute to Women has recognized over 600 New Jersey women and allies for their accomplishments. The award honors women who exemplify the YWCA’s mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

During her speech at the event, Kim thanked the YWCA Princeton for the honor and explained that the achievement was not hers alone, acknowledging the other honorees and all those who have been with her along the way. Kim went on to thank her children for allowing her to share her love with her Anchor House kids, and also her parents for shaping her into the person she is today. Kim also shared her gratitude for her Anchor House family – her staff and board – for their dedication and commitment to the Anchor House mission as well as the mentors who helped her since the start of her career at Anchor House.

Kim’s motto is “If I can help somebody, then my living shall not be in vain.” Kim, your living has not been in vain as you have helped hundreds of kids during your career. We at Anchor House congratulate you on this well-deserved honor.
