Anchor House is excited to spotlight a new supporter this month, the T-Mobile Foundation.
In addition to making a generous donation to Anchor House, team members from T-Mobile stores in the Greater Philadelphia area volunteered at our Shelter and Anchorage Transitional Living sites in late April.
Latisha Anderson, Retail Store Manager at T-Mobile in Langhorne, was in charge of coordinating T-Mobile team members in her area for a volunteer project and, after researching area nonprofits, discovered Anchor House’s website. She was impressed by our mission and the work our agency does.
The volunteers did a variety of activities in April including spring cleaning, planting projects and cooking meals for our Shelter and Anchorage residents. The T-Mobile Foundation provided a generous donation to Anchor House that covered the costs of the materials for the volunteer projects with the remaining funds to be used toward our programs and operations.
This was part of a company-wide initiative for T-Mobile employees to give back in their communities during April which was their Magenta Giving Month, a charitable giving initiative the company started last year to provide employees the opportunity and resources to give back to the causes they care about most.
During the month of April, T-Mobile employees volunteered over 21,000 hours and raised over $2.6 million for nonprofits like Anchor House in their communities. At Anchor House, the T-Mobile team members expressed interest in other ways they could help at Anchor House through the year.
Thank you Latisha, her T-Mobile team and the T-Mobile Foundation!
